Delta Medical College

Delta Medical College is a private medical institution located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, offering Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degrees. It was established in 2006 by Professor Dr. Syed Mukarram Ali and is affiliated with the University of Dhaka.

 

• Location: Mirpur-1, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is approximately 19 kilometers from the Dhaka International Airport.
• Programs offered: MBBS (five-year program followed by a mandatory one-year internship) and BDS.
• Affiliation and recognition: The college is affiliated with the University of Dhaka and recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). For Indian students, it is also recognized by the National Medical Council (NMC).
• Language of instruction: English.

• Hospital: A 350-bed teaching hospital provides students with clinical exposure and offers a range of services, including emergency care, intensive care, and specialized departments for medicine, surgery, and oncology.
• Library: A well-equipped library with internet access is available to students and remains open for extended hours.
• Hostel: Separate accommodation facilities are provided for both local and international male and female students, adjacent to the campus. Amenities include internet access, laundry, a canteen, and a mess.
• Academic resources: The campus features lecture halls, a dissection hall, laboratories, and departmental museums. 

 

Admission

• Admission for Indian students: Indian students require a qualifying NEET score and a minimum percentage in their 10+2 exams to be eligible for admission.
• International student body: The college hosts international students from countries including India, Nepal, the USA, and Nigeria.
• Student life: The college promotes extracurricular activities, and international students often celebrate national holidays like Holi, Diwali, and Eid.
