Tashkent Medical Academy
Tashkent Medical Academy, also known as TMA, is a public medical school and research center in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Founded in 2005 by merging two older medical institutes, the academy has a long history dating back to 1920. It is recognized by international bodies, including the World Health Organization (WHO), and is a popular option for international students, including many from India.
Undergraduate and Graduate Programs

- Medium of instruction: English-medium instruction is available for many programs, especially for international students.
- Accreditation: Recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), WHO, Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), and Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER).
- Affordable costs: Tuition and living expenses are relatively affordable compared to Western countries. The annual MBBS tuition fee is around $3,500, with an estimated monthly living cost of $210–400.
- Hostel facilities: The academy provides hostel accommodations for its international students, with common rooms, kitchens, and computer rooms.
Admission process for international students
- Eligibility: Must have a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in their high school exams. Indian students must also qualify for the NEET exam.
