Universal Medical College

Universal Medical College (UMC) is a private medical college and hospital located in Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was founded in 2013 and is affiliated with the University of Dhaka.

Academic information

• Program: UMC offers a 5-year Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program in English, followed by a mandatory 1-year internship.
• Recognition: The college is recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and the National Medical Commission (NMC) of India.
• Admission: Admission for international students, including those from India, requires a valid NEET score. Applicants must also have completed their 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
• Curriculum: The curriculum is based on the updated National MBBS curriculum of Bangladesh and includes integrated learning methods, clinical training, seminars, and e-learning modules. 

Facilities and student life

• Teaching Hospital: The attached teaching hospital, formerly known as Aysha Memorial Specialized Hospital, has 250 beds and provides extensive clinical exposure to students.
• Hostels: Separate, furnished, and secure hostel accommodations are provided for male and female students on campus. Indian food is available in the mess facilities.
• Other Facilities: The college offers well-equipped laboratories, a library, and a student center for extracurricular activities. 

Campus: UMC is located in a quiet, urban environment and features an 8-story college building with air-conditioned classrooms and a 6-story attached hospital.
